This is concerning and needs to be paid attention to
We witnessed a massive turnaround today, seemingly out of nowhere. It didn't take much—just a 90-day suspension and some talk about a 10% base tariff. The actual details remain fuzzy, largely because the people running government seem to be making policy on the fly. There's no comprehensive 🧵 1/9

Seems efficient

"Paying the USDS an estimated $1.3 million for the services of four employees, or their equivalent, over that timespan would establish an implied annualized pay of about $217,000. (The federal pay scale for career civil servants tops out at $195,200.)"

Don't think this is talked about enough. The world started shifting away from US trade during the first Trump administration, his second is only accelerating the shift leaving the US behind.

the constitution says you must be 35 to be eligible to serve as president. now, let’s say a presidential nominee was born on february 29, 1972, a leap year. and let’s say they were running in 2024. now, technically, they would only be 13. you could say they were ineligible. but that’s stupid! (1)

Cool so what happens if GOP attach a national abortion ban to a CR? You'll vote for that too?

🚮
My YES vote is *not* an endorsement of this deeply flawed CR.

My YES vote is 💯 about refusing to shut our government down.

I refuse to punish working families and plunge millions of Americans into chaos.

I will never, ever, ever, ever, ever vote to shut our government down.
