I will never understand this compulsion among some to control others' freedom. "Among all the humans you may choose to love and dedicate your life to, you may not pick from the half of them whose genitals match yours. Nor may you choose surgeries and drugs designed for that other half." Why TF not?

I'm surprised the right doesn't argue: if Calif. drs. can recommend use of a Schedule I drug (no medical use, says Uncle Sam), why can't Colo. drs. recommend gay/trans kids hate themselves straight/cis?

(Cuz you'd have to show harm from marijuana to match well-documented harm of hate yourself.) ✊🏻

I am surprised there is no mention of Conant v Walters. That's the Supreme Court decision that affirmed doctors had a 1st Amend. right to recommend medical marijuana. Walters was Clinton's Drug Czar, who threatened California doctors' prescription licensing if they helped patients get their cards. 👇🏻

If I were a doctor, and as part of my practice I rejected the opinions of every relevant medical association, as well as the findings of every peer-reviewed study, to instead treat my patients in a manner that has been proven to harm them, is that my 1st Amend. right?

It seems the SCOTUS is about to rule that Christians have a 1st Amendment (?) right to torture gay kids into denying their true nature.

Mike Johnson isn't happy that Bad Bunny is performing at the Super Bowl: It sounds like he's not someone who appeals to a broader audience. There's so many eyes on it. A lot of young, impressionable children. In my view, you would have Lee Greenwood or role models doing that. Not somebody like this.

I don't think I've ever seen the full frame of that famous Vietnam photo. The G.I. on the far right just casually strolling along trying to light a cigarette makes the horror of the naked and terrified kids hit so much harder. I'll bet his grandkids are in ICE.

"L violence > R violence first time in 30 years!" is like "more kids smoke pot now than cigarettes!" It's true, because L violence / pot smoking has remained steady, but R violence / cigarette smoking has plummeted (I'd argue it's gone way up, but it now has the imprimatur of the government). ✊🏻

Oh, I agree with you, I'm just telling you what the study authors claim. The Colorado, 2Girls, Kirk, and MS lynching all post-date the time frame of the study. Yet another way media twists the narrative: jumping on "5 L v. 1 R" mid-year, couching it in "on pace to", before R could catch up. 👇🏻

It blows my mind that some people can deny the truth of who an LGBT person says they are, and almost all of them identify as some flavor of Christian who expects us to respect who they say they are. 👇🏻
