If you'll sacrifice one, you'll sacrifice another. If you sacrifice another, you'll sacrifice all.

If it's wrong, it's wrong the first time.

Simple.

Interesting article
If you want a primer on the Network State, I spent some time with a group hoping to make one this summer:

Wonderful explanation.
Thinking about this today.

“It also means more than simply living. It means our lives are made so much better now that they actually feel worth living— that the change that gender-affirming care makes possible isn't just about life or death, it's about a vibrant life instead of the absence of one.”
In defense of trans quality of life — Jessica Kant
Today trans people exist in an atmosphere where it has become normal for strangers to demand of us that we extemporaneously provide inarguable, indisputable proof that without very safe medical care w...

How often do you all find a company you actually want to work for - not just for the paycheck, not just for the cool tech....

A company you want to work for because the culture they've displayed during the interview is that intriguing?

Had that experience today. It was really cool.

Well written and worth the read.

I've run out of words.
One analytical model shows that, as of November 5th, the dismantling of U.S.A.I.D. has already caused the deaths of 600,000 people, two-thirds of them children. https://newyorkermag.visitlink.me/jUzNSc

Oh, wow. Read this carefully.
That speech was simply appalling. Glad veterans in Congress are speaking out.

It's an interesting day for Internet watching. Is the paint dry or not? Is the dress white or blue?

Schrodinger's cat loves the attention... Or not, depending.

The differences aren't just political. There are competing value systems, competing morality and ethics systems, and probably a very deep cultural difference.

The greatest trick the racists ever pulled was convincing you they didn't exist, or something like that.

Yeah, this sounds about right.
"There are 510,000 NCAA athletes in the U.S....he’s aware of “less than 10” athletes who identify as transgender... If you believe many right-wing voices, you’d think it was far more than 0.001961 percent of college athletes...expert estimates of fewer than 100 trans high school athletes nationwide"

World views are a really complicated topic.

Remember: anything that appears to contradict your world view, your brain basically treats as similar to a physical attack...

This thread has me thinking, because I've frequently been upset that the world & society I came from never, in fact, existed at all.

My solution has been to form a society of one, live it, and spread it.
Where it breaks apart is, of course, the fact that Lynch did not then conclude that the problem was the Other invaded and broke it; rather, it was that this was never real and was built on a brutality to the weak. He did desire a return in spirit to the old, but recognized it as making fables true.

Montana, why?
Major alert: Montana may be about to pass a major anti-trans bill that charges parents with felony endangerment of a child if their child is on trans youth care.

It would apply to parents just passing through the state, visiting.

Would be the first law of its kind to pass anywhere.

Vote is TODAY.

This is legit.
USA people only:

1) What's the most substantial thing that you've done to reduce racism?

2) Do you take some action every week to reduce racism? Just saying "That's messed up!" doesn't count.

And don't reply to these questions. Just think about them. Answer them for yourself, not me or others.

Wasn't it like this in the distant past?
Wild idea... even visitors to the United States should be able to have freedom of speech without being disappeared and locked away.

Oh God it all makes sense now!

I'm living in a Halloween episode of Dr. Who!
It’s crazy how the generation that said “don’t believe everything you read on the internet” have now been completely replaced by a race of lizard people.

A major element of privilege is that your speculative harms are respected as real, while the Other's real harms are dismissed as speculative.
