I really don't know clouds at all.

As seen in (a very brief quote in) The New Yorker.

She/her. Sapphic bi. Trans rights are human rights, black lives matter, the first Pride was a riot. Enjoy the cornfield.
Pinned
"I don't handle rejection well" is a statement that may be true about me but it overlooks the laundry list of other things I don't handle well.
I dunno what you're on about, the new Wuthering Heights looks lit.

So I guess Scott Adams passed away, sorry about the video link, I don't know why it's here, I'm not good with computers and I'm trying to delete it.

SIX STRING SAMURAI

Animated by Madhouse.
we often talk about “what anime would you adapt into a movie” but here is a reverse: what movies would you adapt into an anime?

It’s pretty simple. If you want me, a lifelong liberal, someone who marched against the Iraq war under that banner, to listen to anything you say, don’t fucking use “liberal” to mean “anyone who sucks.”

It’s not that hard. And I am not being unreasonable.

The other element here, which is very important, is that you have to balance the desire for both the fans and the network to keep the show going as long as possible with the fact that storytelling requires an ending, but you ideally want to end just at the point where the premise has run its course.
1/ The problem with TV more than movies or literature especially is you’re working with 5 to 10 years of production and usually something goes wrong out of your control.

Writer’s strike, actor death, studio/channel demands all get in the way of your vision.
Honestly don’t hate Lost.

Sopranos was controversial at the time but held up well.

Succession I think was good enough but the strongest episode of the season was [spoiler] halfway through.

This thread applies to far more than just gaming. If you have a public-facing facility and aren't asking people who display antisocial behaviors to leave, pretty soon all you are going to have are the antisocial customers.
I spent an excessive number of years moderating a gaming forum and I learned a great deal about community spaces and cultivation, whether I wanted to or not. I have critical advice for anyone who runs a game store or gaming convention. Please share this thread with people who run those things.

"People shouldn't have nostalgia for this" always reads to me a little like "how dare you be somewhere between the ages of eight and twelve at the wrong time of human history."

Since this wuss can't bother to open up- no, this is not true, and I do not mean "It is not the most accurate phrasing of a statement", I mean that it is a lie. The Nazis were, at best, inspired by reading about Westward Expansion in the form of trashy translated paperbacks.

I saw you in a movie back in '92,
You wore high heels and had two bald guys nailing you;
I was too young but my libido still got through

Your clips were uploaded to Pornhub in a stream,
You talked about it but looked like you'd want to scream,
And not the ways you did in movies, it would seem.

joke's on you I would have picked veruca anyway
it's too late. i have already portrayed myself as the pure and kind-hearted charlie bucket, and you as the greedy and immature veruca salt

believing that they could have gotten more out of republicans means believing that every piece of reporting from the entire duration of the shutdown about republican unwillingness to compromise was wrong. now, maybe that's true. but you have to acknowledge that as the starting position.

There is an actual bad thing that happened, I am begging you to focus on the actual bad thing and not the abstract of "history will remember us as such-and-such" that you're never even going to see.

Everyone wants an explanation for why the films that have been a defining force of cinema for the past 17 years feel old to them and yet they all want that explanation to not include the part where they've been a defining force of cinema for the past 17 years.
If there's one thing that signals film illiteracy from someone online, it's when they deride humor used in another genre as being "a Marvel-like quip."

Go watch DIE HARD. "No shit, lady! Do you think I'm ordering a pizza?!" is the exact same kind of line that now gets called "quippy"

"I'm going to hang up this phone, and then I'm going to show these people what you don't want them to see. I'm going to show them a world without you. A world without rules and controls, without borders and boundaries... a world where anything is possible."
Name a quote from a 90s film.
