3 years after being a union rep, sometimes I feel isolated: alone in the face of the machine that's taking your time, energy & life. But we're not alone and demonstrating support and mutual soldarity for people who need it most, reminds me we have incredible, collective strength. We're unbeatable!

Scottish Government officials have ignored public outrage and expert opinion to grant permission for Flamingo Land to build their mega-resort at Loch Lomond.

155,000 of you objected to their plans, making it the most objected to planning application in Scottish history. 🧵

Attacking the rights of a marginalised group isn’t a win for feminism.

Demanding that women be defined by our biology isn't a win for feminism.

The people driving this are not acting in the interests of women. They're taking us all backwards and ushering in the far right.

A walk during some time off: in the hills & back to my childhood home. Back to work tomorrow, hating centrism for the return of the poison that, when I lived in that address in the 70s, no one would have believed could find a way in. The hills provide relief but there's no kidding ourselves now.

Freedom, empathy, compassion and solidarity have to be at the heart of the system we create.

But that can’t happen as long as the Labour government is prioritising performative cruelty and trying to compete with Reform.

Good to get out of town for a while today. With the sky so clear the view from just beyond Carbeth was fantastic. I don't wish it could be Christmas every day but I do wish there was more time for this sort of thing, instead of the grind again tomorrow. Love hills, hate capitalism.
