I took a K-12 job while I was looking into PhD programs. A new PhD grad told me there were a total of 3 tenure track job openings in our field that year, and I decided to wait. 20 years later, the situation has only gotten worse and many of the programs and jobs I wanted to apply for don't exist.

Very similar to my thoughts on the book (haven't watched the show). HR is my least favorite of the series for the reasons you gave. I get that it works to frame the whole series in terms of timeline, but I just... want so much more for/from Shane.

I know I keep posting about this a lot but seeing this behavior mainstreamed by a popular well known athlete has really shaken me up and I am going to do everything I can to educate about it and spread the word about how incredibly dangerous it is to Jews.

it's been pointed out before but we got rid of a lot of the people equipped to deal with social issues at these places during the "stick to sports" blowback and now there's a vast lack at an editorial level (and probably, unwillingness) to dig into anything that isn't purely sports of a given story
