Starmer has opted not to do all the obvious and popular things that would improve people's lives and is instead doing all the things that were too right wing, authoritarian and unpopular for the Tories and New Labour to do

Billions paid out for wars and death, but nothing for those that are struggling to live - going to work isn't just about earning money. It is being social with colleagues and keeping your mind positive. Being ill is often painful, isolating, always expensive and very depressing.

"Anyone who didn’t do their duty for the labour market – say, people too disabled or ill to work, family carers and jobseekers – should expect very little from Labour."

Just brilliant quote from @francesryan.bsky.social on labour and it's increasingly narrow minded thinking of people.

I spoke to @tristancorkpost.bsky.social at the Bristol Post about finding my feet as an MP, not getting drawn into Westminster's weirdness, fighting for renters' rights - and plenty more! Have a read ⬇️ www.bristolpost.co.uk/news/bristol...
Photo of a newspaper spread, with a picture of Carla Denyer and the headline 'Parliament's a toxic environment... but I've had some successes'
