The no. 1 thing corporate America wants is certainty. Even if policies they don't like, at least they can plan for it. No one will plan any kind of large investment when they don't know what policy will be in a month.
Remarkable that officials are now rushing to rehire employees fired under Elon Musk's DOGE. Between this and all the tariff reversals, backpedaling is now becoming a policy norm. Which increases uncertainty more.
