UCR virologist and paper author Rong Hai: “It is broadly applicable to any number of viruses, broadly effective against any variant of a virus, and safe for a broad spectrum of people. This could be the universal vaccine that we have been looking for.”
Vaccine breakthrough means no more chasing strains
Scientists at UC Riverside have demonstrated a new, RNA-based vaccine strategy that is effective against any strain of a virus and can be used safely even by babies or the immunocompromised.

It's okay to make movies and dramatic series in chronological order. Having 3 timelines going doesn't make the plot more interesting. This ain't LOST or Seinfeld's Indian wedding episode. Write better.

I cannot imagine paying $80/mo for Hulu Plus when it just randomly exits the app, freezes, loses paused location and restarts shows.

How are we still running out of vital medications? I haven't been able to get my Advair asthma medication refilled for at least a week.

I told my husband I wanted a specific flower arrangement with beautiful evergreen filler and he struggled to get just the right one and I think I'm allergic. 😥 I'm afraid to admit because it's pretty and I want it and I don't want to be difficult.

Heating pad cords should be 20 ft long. Ya'll tell me extension cords are bad to use with them but expect me to be huddled up against a wall outlet.

I cut up the cooled peanut butter fudge before going to bed. I don't want to guess how much I sampled.

But when you make it yourself, do you think I can't believe they charge so much for this stuff. What a racket! I think one small pan would be $40.

Regarding medical records: Are they required to be online in a MyChart-type app or do you just have to access to them by requesting them. One specialist I see, I can message her via a portal but there are no available online records.

Is there an #ADA requirement for how long an elevator door should stay opened to get a wheelchair in? How about their size, like of it's so small you have to back in, but door closes so quickly you can't do it? Frustrating doc apt today, a place that 💯 needs to be accessible.

“I sometimes think there may be a bit of misogyny," Engoron says. Apparently this isn't the first time Kise has complained about something the law clerk is doing.

Kise replies: “I am not misogynist, I have a 17-year-old daughter.”

Any #EDS or #NEISvoid Folks want to help me? Subluxed knee caps. Apparently they're like that a lot or all the time. But after being on my knees scrubbing the shower, one feels twisted. Any tricks to getting it back? Vids or social media accounts?

So I gave my asparagus fern a serious haircut, cleaned it up, and brought it inside. It fascinates me how these new shoots are growing towards the window, but also, that will fill in with little needles and not stay bare like some alien tentacles, right? #plants #gardening

Crying in connective tissue disorder.
Today in Insomniac Anatomy: did you know sometimes your ligaments and muscles are stronger than your bones? 🧪

This is esp important for things like the Atlas, the first vertebrae below the spine. When you have a ton of force hit there, the dens of the vertebrae snaps BEFORE the ligament does.

Sometimes then the ligament will actually like get in between the bone fragments which stops them from knitting together. 🧪

In which we get to one of my fav quotes so far in this anatomy text: Because the dens of the bone doesn't have a blood supply, it "results in avascular necrosis (G., death)"

The past 2 weeks I've been going through paperwork & putting all medical & school paperwork in binders. Going through my chronically ill son's paperwork from the school with all their threats due to his absences from doctors appointments & chronic illness put me in a bad place.

Husband had his covid and flu vax last week. Kids are getting theirs today. I'm waiting to get mine until I'm off this latest steroid taper so I can mount a full response. Fingers crossed.

Sometimes I have a moment where I can't believe how much one covid infection changed my allergies. This salicylate allergy (food and medications,) and red dye allergy is so unbelievably bad. It's like it took all my existing health issues and multiplied them exponentially.
