Yes, though it was pretty soft and fortunately not icy at all. Looked nice!

In line with our social and environmental values we donate any surplus funds from our weekend trips to organisations we support. This year we've split £300 between UK-Med Gaza appeal and Assynt MRT.

What a fantastic weekend in Torridon! Despite winter weather and strong winds, we all got out - climbed mountains, went kayaking, enjoyed wild swimming and gentle shore walks. Plus great food and a warm, comfy hut at Mol Mor, thanks to @n-t-s.bsky.social. To the Lake District for our October trip.

Snow!❄️
Not what we expected on a September trip to Torridon, but a good reminder to prepare the pack for winter.
Great to be out with @redropescot.bsky.social pals. A cold wind, but we got lots of ☀️ too.

Our next weekend trip away is 19-22 September to Torridon. We've had some fabulous meets there over the years, and some mixed weather, but it's always a beautiful place to be. Why not join us for one of our trips or a day walk? New members welcome!

Scotland’s world-class outdoor access rights began with Holyrood’s first #LandReform Bill.

But land reform is an ongoing journey, and it’s time to pick up the pace, so that everyone benefits. 🗺️

What a monstrosity. Hopefully it'll do its job properly and stop rockfalls landing on folks' heads. Will also solve the knotty problem that's out on consultation - there will be no vehicular traffic going this way any time soon. #Samson'sRibs #HolyroodPark #Edinburgh

We had a great weekend away in Elphin recently, to the Grampian Speleological Club hut. We enjoyed a wide range of excursions: Conival & Ben More Assynt; Cul Mor; Cul Beag; Ben Hope; a plane wreck search; a coastal walk & swim and a cycle to Lochinver.
Our next trip is to Torridon 18-21 September.

A fantastic time last weekend with Red Rope pals, based in Elphin. Love this part of Scotland - and it was looking particularly lovely with the bonnie blooming heather.

❗ High risk of wildfire for nearly all of Scotland during much of the coming week.

It should barely need saying but still, please shout it from the rooftops...

📣 It is simply not responsible to have a campfire when the wildfire risk is high.

This is true - the shared vegetarian dinners (and not just the puddings) are often the highlight of our trips!

Goodness, there’ll be some long-lived Red Ropers if custard really is the secret to a long life. Custard, and lashings of it, tends to feature in our shared meals on every trip. We like our puddings!
