This is particularly ironic because I think that a lot of the post-Oct 7 attack on TikTok was driven by people wanting to prevent western audiences from seeing the Gaza genocide with their own eyes. So now we are facing the prospect of a crackdown on TikTok-documented state violence at home.

I think there's a pretty good argument to be made that if it weren't for the bogus charge that TikTok was brainwashing American tweens into becoming Taliban commandos, the ban—very predictably delivering control of the entire platform into the hands of the president's allies—would not have passed

Labour is not part of the Left and the Left is not part of Labour anymore, mate; Starmer saw to it. "Shook off the fleas" as they're fond of saying. With a little luck, opposition to Reform will coalesce around the Greens. Starmer's Labour is not up to the task.
