When a government knows it cannot be easily voted out, accountability erodes. First-past-the-post turns minority support into unchecked power.

Proportional representation changes the incentives and strengthens democratic oversight.

“Private renters’ debt is on average over £4,000.”

That’s a generation pushed into debt just to keep a roof over their heads.

The only way we guarantee affordable rents is by dismantling the current system that exists only to enrich landlords and investors at our expense.

In 1996, the party with fewer votes formed government.

In 2001, 58% of the vote produced 98% of the seats.

British Columbia has lived with first-past-the-post distortion for decades.

Proportional representation means seats match votes. Nothing more. Nothing less.

New York lawmakers have proposed requiring retailers to disclose when they use "surveillance pricing" tactics to gouge consumers.

It's a much-needed step towards reining in how companies can weaponize your personal data.

I care about voting reform so much!! I'm so hopeful that this time BC can make it stick (and as I understand it, Citizen's Assembly is a great path forward)!

I also want this to happen as a signal to the federal government...

BREAKING: Doug Ford is rushing through his attack on renters, Bill 60.

No on can afford a place to live and the cost of rent is sky-high. Bill 60 will make it easier for corporate landlords to raise rents and evict you.

Join in me in taking a stand.

Doug Ford’s new omnibus bill hides a major gift to corporate lobbyists: a ban on turning car lanes into bike lanes.

@desaima.bsky.social notes that the move mirrors demands from the Toronto Region Board of Trade. It won’t fix traffic—but it will keep oil companies and Uber happy.

It’s been ten years since this promise.

Canadians are still waiting for a voting system where every vote truly counts.

It’s time to finish what was started in 2015 and deliver proportional representation.

The notion that a group of hatemongers marching through the street protected by the Toronto Police and a counter-protest against their vile actions are considered "competing immigration rallies" is some of the most sickening fascism apologia I've ever witnessed.
This is classic CDN media misrepresentation.
What went down at Christie Pits wasn't two sides of the same issue.
This was a hate rally demanding mass deportations against people who live in Toronto. It was a fascist hate gathering.
They were countered by people standing up for their neighbours.

Most Americans/US media are aware of K-Pop and know of Korean-US population. But have not lived or worked in ROK. Lack a sense of on what points, and why, Korean history, dignity, and self-respect are at stake.

If the US *wanted* to offend a crucial partner, it could not have done worse.
Meanwhile in Korean media there is clarity that Trump directed this raid out of spite following his Oval Office meeting with the ROK President, who pushed back aggressively on Trump's praise for the North Korean dictator. They're right. US media have no clue of what's going on.
