U.S. Northern Command says that elements of the Texas national guard are now “employed in the greater Chicago area.”

The statement claims that they’ve been deployed to protect ICE and federal property.

It would be inappropriate to condition funding of the government on the government following any rules whatsoever

Durbin on whether Democrats can use reining in ICE in Chicago as a precondition to rein in the government says “can’t do that. It’s gotta be health care all the way.”

As one of those voters, fuck us & fuck Texas.

It’s very naive of me to think that there’s even relative safety anywhere, but I honestly worry about travel outside of [the parts of] Texas [where I generally am], because at home I’m surrounded by other Latinos, & profiling all of us is a bigger lift. I don’t want my passport confiscated in Iowa.

Wow — Harvard Crimson student newspaper busts Hegseth for having written a long policy brief touting diversity before he joined Trump’s war on DEI.

With receipts. Bravo, Crimson.

Pro-Life did this. For years and years, they called for this. Lobbied for this. Pressured for this. Cheered this. Never underestimate the anti-abortion movement's willingness to hurt people under the banner of "respect for the sanctity of life" to get what it wants.

I remember him saying it about Mika Brzezinski once.

(This isn't meant to rebut the broader point, with which I agree)

"how can 37% of people say yes to the second question?" well, you see, many of those people think the question is "the president should be able to deploy troops against Black people whatever a governor says."

58% of Americans - including half of Republicans - think the president should send armed troops only to face external threats, a sign of unease as President Donald Trump increasingly deploys National Guard troops to police American cities, a @reuters.com poll found.
