I also can't help but believe that this is targeted against the professor because they're queer. This is exactly what happened in Texas. It's a witch hunt to push LGBTQ people out of academia.

The same political party that treats a single murder by someone from a foreign country as a pretext for "a complete & total shutdown" of immigration from that country, is at the same time calling for a "let 'er rip" approach to AI chatbots that are harming (and sometimes killing) us in myriad ways.

My great-grandma's elder brother was on a ship in Halifax Harbour during the explosion and helped with the rescue effort immediately afterwards. His son wrote a brief but incredibly harrowing memoir of that experience.

I play video games to escape from people. Nothing's more irritating to me than encountering other players in open world games (Diablo, PoE, etc). I'd love an option to play entirely solo & invisibly to other players. I don't want to be reminded of real people's existence when I'm slaying monsters.
