people will say things like "broccoli has more protein per calorie than steak!" and then you pull up the info and correct them and they will just be like "oh well it sounds like it could be true." and just go on with their day completely not caring that they spread lies.

I appreciate those out there protesting at great risk to their lives however i think the nation needs to grind this economy to a dead stop.
It's something everyone can do safely. No spending on ANYTHING but absolute necessities.
I understand some shut ins can not do this but very many of us can.

My head canon is that Jeremy Strong is to David Schwimmer as Gollum is to Smeagol.

Tim Walz needs to instruct the police to arrest and jail every ICE officer they see. Figure out the legal ramifications later. This is fucking ridiculous.

The reactionary centrist logic is simple: if the left does something bad it’s the left’s fault, and if the right does something bad, it’s also the left’s fault for making them do it. It’s a simple formula and once you see it every one of their arguments is the same

The bottom line as to why shutting down the country with protests/etc can’t work (save for a general strike) is because it isn’t analogous to doing the same in France or whatever, but rather because it’s analogous to shutting down the whole of Europe.

Honestly this entire thread can be summed up as “Marvel fucked up because they listened to the internet.”
Just re-watched Infinity War for the first time in a while and some things really stuck out to me this time:
- Quill never really atoned for or admitted that he's basically the one that caused the snap.
- Bucky, Sam, and Strange never mentioned or dealt with that they were dusted.

This is the THIRD time a boomer family member has said “my iPhone storage is full, what do I do?”

Apple must be making an absolute killing on needless iCloud storage increases.

One of the biggest threads of AI in programming is that you're turning ICs into managers.

People who thrive on working alone for long, uninterrupted periods of time, are now extraverting via LLMs and are constantly interrupted. Don't be surprised when many or most of them fail.

The simple answer as to why shows have fewer episodes per season/take longer to produce is because now the companies making them are also running complex streaming services or are even whole ass tech companies.

The more a company does, the higher the coordination cost.

Dude the F1 movie sucks so bad. Every race Pitt is like “I’m gonna use the wrong tires” and everyone else is like “he’s crazy but he’s a genius.”

My family in Indiana is so stereotypically boomer/midwest:
- Costco brand ground coffee, watery as hell
- Steaks cooked well done
- Motion smoothing on
- Only computers are iPads with off-brand cases
- Consuming AI slop without realizing it’s AI slop

However they’re anti-Trump so I’ll take it.

Just in case anyone doesn’t get this: right-wing government “efficiency” reduces service at the expense of the citizens quality of life.

I’m at a USPS with 3 windows, 1 clerk, and an hour long line out the door.

Raising our taxes by like $0.10 a year for more clerks is 100% worth it.
