The idea that Barack Obama is somehow responsible for the advent of American fascism completely ignores the actual role that the American people did this to themselves. At some point the anti-Obama voices from both the left and those now Never Trumpers from the right need to reckon with themselves.
saw a nature doc yesterday narrated by Barack Obama and i really think it was a worthy way to spend his time during the ascent of violent fascism

Yeah don’t even know what Fetterman is doing. Like okay I get backing Stefanik, she’s really unimportant.

Hegseth? That should be an easy and hard no. And downplaying the sexual assault stuff is… 😬

You know Dems might just need to wait for this to inevitably bring the system near collapse again and then they’ll get their huge majorities.

Trump transition team has started to explore pathways to dramatically shrink, consolidate or even eliminate top bank watchdogs.

Potential appointees have been asked if Trump can eliminate the FDIC and have deposit insurance absorbed into Treasury Dept.

That would require an act of Congress.

What said is that I truly believe this will end with the report going public and it simply revealing Oswald acted alone. And then half the country won’t believe it anyway.

Breaking News: The FBI director, Christopher Wray, intends to resign, bowing to the reality that Donald Trump plans to replace him with Kash Patel, a longtime loyalist. The news comes more than two years before Wray’s 10-year term would have expired.
Christopher Wray says he will step down as F.B.I. director.
President-elect Donald J. Trump had already signaled his intention to replace Mr. Wray with a longtime loyalist, Kash Patel.

Largely were I’m at. Today is better day for Syria simply because Assad is gone.

The future is uncertain and I’m not going to claim what comes next will be good because there no way to know. But it’ll certainly be better than it was.
Syria’s future is of course uncertain, but a world without Bashar al-Assad still in power is a better world.

The #Resistance clearly didn’t work guys. The opposition today must be exactly that, a creature with teeth that defends liberal values not some ineffectual marching with no follow up.

That’s why I propose in the podcast setting up a large legal defense project …. Would require a lot of pro bono legal work and and funding. But I think it can be done. More lawyers need to get onto defending the rule of law.
Therein lies the rub. Most people can’t afford to fight. He’s been bankrupting people since the 70s.

My wish list for reforming presidential powers:

1) Reform the Insurrection Act;

2) End presidential immunity;

3) Ban pardons for family members;

4) Provide for Senate advice and consent on other pardons;

5) Roll back tariff authority; and

6) Revive Congressional war powers.

Your ideas?

I think there’s a difference between moderating on issues/messaging and querying with fascists. The Democratic Party needs to learn to play hardball and not be zealots about “norms & rules.”
so you’re saying mass mobilization and a Democratic Party that is willing to actually fight back against a fascist coup leads to positive outcomes?
But the American Democrats keep saying we have to work with the fascists who are going to end American democracy otherwise we’re just as bad as they are

A few important fact to remember:

S. Korea lived under some form of military dictatorship from 1965-1988!

Brazil lived under a military dictatorship from 1964-1985!

Democracy is not an abstraction to these folk, it's a vulnerable thing that they want to protect.
