Jeffries: “Republicans acted with great urgency to swear in two right-wing members of congress to do in the American people… What is the delay with respect to Representative-elect. Grijalva? Anything to do with Republicans continuing effort to hide the Epstein files? Inquiring minds want to know.”

If anyone’s struggled to keep up with my threads on why the genAI bubble
Is a bubble, here’s a simplified pictorial explanation, the plug is OpenAI and the sockets are Microsoft, Meta, Oracle, Nvidia, and AMD

NN: Dems say you won't swear in Grijalva bc you don't want her vote on Epstein

JOHNSON: No. It's scheduling

NN: But there have been Rs sworn in during pro forma sessions

MJ: Only reason was bc they flew in their family

NN: So if she flies in her family you'd do it?

MJ: Again, it's a distraction

The Trump Admin’s assault on federal workers is nothing new. They have no regard for the public servants who are currently going without pay because of the shutdown they continue to prolong.

I spoke with federal workers in New Jersey. They see the lawlessness and are asking me to hold the line.

Mike Johnson: "If you're a young, pregnant American citizen women who shows up in an ER and you get treated and they pay the hospital less for treating you than some illegal rabble rouser who came in from some South American country to do us harm, that is wrong."

To claim to be a pious Christian and get behind a microphone every day and lie to protect a man who raped little girls and trafficked little girls is assuring you of your place in the afterlife, Mikey.

It ain't Heaven.

This is an important point.

Everyone one of these people has been asked to leave their home, their family, and their job to work without pay bc of the shutdown. We're better off thinking of ways to make this backfire on Abbott than to treat them poorly.

Remember: These are not MAGA stormtroopers. These are everyday teachers and accountants who signed up to serve their country with their spare time. They're being used as political pawns by venal, un-American, draft-dodging president

Mike Johnson furiously backpedaling on the back pay thing is a pretty good indication that nobody in the GOP has the slightest clue how to deal with the shutdown.

"It has always been the case. It is tradition and I think it is statutory law that federal employees be paid. And that’s my position."

A reminder on the 8th day of this Republican shutdown: Speaker Johnson could call Members back to negotiate to re-open the government any time he wants. He's choosing not to.

Republicans would rather raise costs and kick millions of Americans off their health care.
