The toddler is - finally - asleep so the grown-ups can enjoy Christmas Eve margaritas in peace #ConfinedCocktails

Left the house 20 minutes early. Should have been 2 useful buses in the time I’ve been waiting - the one I’m finally on turned up 10 minutes late. And I’ve still got a 10 minute walk at the other end, so I’ll be late to work (I’d normally be there now). Any guesses why I normally drive…?

I had far too much fun with this 🤣 Can’t remember what happened after Batman made his exit in the version current in my early ‘80s Edinburgh playground, unfortunately. I had no idea it was so widespread.

Airport #ConfinedCocktails (a Bumblebee & OH’s beer) as we’ll be airborne at the usual hour, en route to Naples for a week.

Railway-themed #UnconfinedWalks today, from Shildon to Heighington along the Stockton & Darlington Railway. Replica ‘Rocket’ (steaming) & original(ish) ‘Locomotion’ at the museum; abundant hips & haws along the line; world’s oldest station (in dire need of TLC, sadly) at Heighington.

Kirkjuvagr Beyla gin (local, distilled with raspberries & honey) & tonic with a view, remembering that this would be a bank holiday if I wasn’t already on hols.

#TeaUp with a glorious view out to the Brough of Birsay. Something stronger to follow when we’re a bit more settled into our home for the week.

All too accurate. Even with a good employer (mine is pretty good, & very much has the will to be supportive), this rings too true. Especially, right now, that feeling of not truly belonging within the team.
"Even though so many workers are neurodivergent, our workplaces aren’t designed to support their needs. The result is overtired, overwhelmed and overburdened employees who can’t access a true feeling of belonging on their teams."

Bit of a tricky day, so I reckon I can justify a sneaky gin, with rose lemonade & rasps fresh from the garden #ConfinedCocktails

Will be late to #ConfinedCocktails this evening due to travel (I don’t think the local train has WiFi), but Geneva to Wengen transfer is very scenic, & 2nd train has both aircon & free WiFi. Looking forward to a nice Swiss white wine, assuming the hotel is still serving food when arrive.

Not a bad view to go with an excellent lunch.

Great to be able to get properly out again, for #UnconfinedWalks along Hadrian’s Wall between Housesteads & Once Brewed (aka The Sill - daft name, but excellent hot choc). A lovely day to be out - cold, clear & bright, if less sunny than promised.

No, palliative care isn’t as good as it could be - but voting against assisted dying isn’t going to change that overnight (if at all). It will just ensure that far too many people will continue to endure agonising, prolonged deaths. And their loved ones will have to live with that memory.
Ever since I was diagnosed with MS, I have shrunk away from talking about assisted dying.

I hope MPs won't do the same. This is why.
