The European Convention on Human Rights is at the point of being a talking point in the UK, and a lot of voices are calling for the UK to "reclaim its sovereignty" (again). So I figure it's probably worth pointing out a few things by asking "what has the ECHR done for me, a white guy?" [A thread]

The levels of "Yes the Labour Migration Policy is bad but at least it's not Reform" this morning is impressive levels of hand wringing.
Things >don't have to be shit< in spite of what the last 10-20 years have suggested. There's alternatives beyond those two Right Wing factories of terrible policy.

This is the first time in a long time that a message of Hope for the future has been broadcast from the United States; I can only hope that the UK sits up and pays attention to Mamdani's NYC victory.
It's been nice to wake up and read the news with a smile on my face at least once this year.

If you told me that it'd be the Liberal Democrats that would be first to fire a shot across Reform's bow I'd have told you yeah probably. The party with little to lose by doing so taking the safe bet isn't new in British Politics.
