Amazing graphic from @evolve_ca

Ethnic Studies helps students see themselves—their cultures, histories, and identities as part of the bigger story. It creates space for students who have been left out of the narrative for too long.

In a city as diverse as SF, removing Ethnic Studies is erasure.

The Trump administration just unfroze BILLIONS in education funds that were on hold. That’s money for after-school programs, teacher training, and more.

THANK YOU to everyone who called their reps! This is what people power looks like.

City College opens doors, provides opportunities, and improves lives.

We must ensure that CCSF stays well funded so that students are able to utilize resources, get the classes they need, and are set up for success for the rest of their life.

Trump’s big bill is not reform. It’s not efficiency. It’s targeted harm.

Millions of people will lose access to care; their livelihoods and futures all put at risk so that the richest people in the country can hoard even more.

The American Dream is alive—but just for a few.

📢 Hands off Prop C 📢

Daniel Lurie is trying to STEAL from Prop C—pushing to make it easier for the board of supervisors to override voter intent and redirect these funds however they want.

This is a blatant attack on unhoused San Franciscans.

SFUSD deficit this, deficit that 🥱

So WDYM we’re spending $$ on a worse Ethnic Studies curriculum that students can’t even see themselves in??? 😦 AND NOT HAVING ETHNIC STUDIES NEXT YEAR?!

SFUSD kids need comprehensive ethnic studies. Nothing less.

S.F. school district ditches its ethnic studies course for off-the-shelf curriculum
Ethnic studies curriculum will look different in San Francisco high schools this fall after the district decided to abandon its controversial home-grown course in favor of an off-the-shelf package.

Mayor Lurie is spending $13M to push houseless folks in RVs out of sight.

Not to help them—but to make them disappear.

Imagine using that money to actually fund Muni, fix transit, and serve ALL San Franciscans.

Juneteenth marks the end of chattel slavery, but not the end of all bondage. George Jackson’s story reminds us that freedom delayed is freedom denied. This Juneteenth we honor the past by fighting for the present.

‼️ENOUGH WITH BYOR‼️

Evolve Summer Intern Lynda said it best — ALL California students deserve equitable opportunities, not just those who come from privilege.

That’s why we MUST reform Prop. 13 to restore $17 BILLION to our schools every year!

✊POWER TO THE PEOPLE✊

The recent Mayor’s draft budget included $9.3 million for the Free City program, a $2 million increase from last year. That means the proposed cuts didn’t go through, & San Francisco residents will continue to have access to free higher education at current enrollment levels!

Prop 13 is another year older, but we’re STILL out here working every day to reform it!

Prop 13 DESTROYED our public schools and communities, all because corporations don’t want to pay what they owe in property taxes.

We’re here to tell corporations: you can’t have your cake and eat it too!!! 🍰🍰
