My retirement savings strategy of "save nothing and wait for world-historical disaster that sorta levels the whole playing field" doesn't look so dumb now, does it

The left is so busy in-fighting and having a puritanical dick measuring contest that we are failing to rise or resist

@podsaveamerica.crooked.com, @jonlovett.bsky.social, I do not disagree with your criticism of higher education institutions like Colombia but—as someone who works in higher education advancement—I have to say that you’re misrepresenting how endowments function and think it is dangerous to do so.

“The American people are with us,” is a rich statement from someone who is providing a milquetoast defense of said people. Get off your asses and do something meaningful instead of this “waiting for the right pitch” bullshit.
House Republicans have just been ordered to stop holding Town Hall meetings.

They can run from their extreme agenda.

We will never let them hide.

Our inability to collectively empathize is evident by the fact that we do not have the ability to look at recent events from an outside perspective. Perhaps we wouldn't be so blinded by denial, waxing poetic about if we are in a crisis yet, if we could.

In future generations, when your children and grandchildren look back on this moment, they are not going to ask about the price of eggs. They are going to ask you what you did. Not what you felt. Not what you paid. But what you did. And I want to be able to say I did everything I possibly could.

One thing that I'm increasingly coming to believe is that stories are going to be central to what comes next. Stories of the harm done. Stories of the great things achieved by government in the past. Stories of valor kindness and quotidian simple resistance.

Don’t just say DEI as if it’s a bad word. Spell it out.

Say diversity, which is the lifeblood of American society & culture & innovation.

Say equity, which a just society should pursue.

Say inclusion, because decent people believe in increasing belonging, not isolating people who are different.

I used to be quite ignorant as a young adult. But do you know what changed my mind each time? Art.

Art is the best thing to get into the hearts of others and help them see something new. Just make something completely sincerely. Everything else falls into place. There is a reason for what we do.
