Home of Bitkin, the City of Elseways, Tessera, and whatever else the Wandering Mind sees fit to turn its energy to. Current project: a series of assorted small things
Find bunny. Keep those bunnies. Elseways makes myself characters.

Brillig lounges casually on the deck of the Silver Lining. This is mostly just another sketch to test out some coloring techniques, but also to get comfortable drawing him in other poses.
He's got mixed emotions, too, about how the voyage to find Nada's home went. The ship's his now, but now what?

Captain Brillig J. Bandersnatch in color. I didn't realize how corvid he'd look until this was nearly done, but I think that works well given who he is.

Neena is known for experiments like this, but I haven't drawn her engaging in them lately. There's a chance they'll both stay this way.
Marked "suggestive" only because Neena is shirtless, but there's nothing there she's actually hiding. She's reptilian enough to be entirely flat-chested.

What flavor is (one of) your OC(s)?

Worked out a rough (and incomplete) deck plan for the Silver Lining. It’s based on a real-life science/cruise ship, although that one doesn’t have the fins or the ability to fly.

Post something random or you’ll have an awful December.

The mission to find Nada’s home world was technically a success, but its inhabitants don’t recognize him. Whatever it is he became, it’s something they’ve never seen before in the celestial void they inhabit.

Nada Number's true form, beneath the ink coating. He never reveals himself like this because it feels vulnerable; it's how he was when he was forced through the experiments that defined his early life. If he's going to meet his true family, though, this is what they'd want to see.

Down in the chart room, Farran has good and bad news for the captain. Good: He and Xana have found a route to the colorful spacelike world Nada and Vivid hail from. Bad: it's through a portal, the other end of which is in the hazardous and unstable part of the cosmos known as the Froth.

Not the right era, but I can't help but choose this out of all the other movies set there.

A redesign of a character I came up with when I was ~4 years old; the parts I recall were "hair made of numbers" and "one giant leg to bounce around Saturn's rings on". Its homeworld (also Nada's) is based on a child's imaginary version of outer space, where this kind of thing happens regularly.

A pencil sketch I'll clean up later. Down in the Silver Lining's engine room, BJ and Cris poke gentle fun at Zika, who's the only one down there with jut two arms. It's just teasing for now, but she's married to the six-legged Śina and they've got a doctor on board who's capable of the procedure.

Playing around with a puzzle idea here. Every gem represents a number from 1 through 9, and the same gem is always the same number. Every number is here at least once. The equations run across rows and down columns. I have two questions:
* Can you find the answer?
* Is this fun?
November 21, 2025 at 7:18 AM
I'm not sure what the point of doing this was, but it was fun and I'll add more to it over time as I decide on which cast members to throw in. There are a lot of them; this just might be a good way to keep track.

Happy 50th birthday to Blit Bitkin! In reality it's the 50th anniversary of what he's named after (mastodon.sdf.org/@fvzappa/115...), but honestly he's had a full enough life that it makes some sense that he's that old himself. This isn't his original body, which confuses things a bit, of course.

This is Xana duMonde, all of six inches tall. She may look like some kind of faerie with a magic wand, but she insists that everything she does has a sound logical basis. Of course, as advanced as Underville's understanding of multidimensional warp physics gets, it might as well be magic.

Genuinely curious about this. I don't know how I look from the outside.

Capt. Brillig's mission: find Nada and Vivid's homeworld. They're starting in the place Nada spent an uncounted number of years, a vast labyrinth full of puzzle, and BJ wastes no time getting out an acetylene torch to try some reverse-engineering.

Another sketch of Cris, showing off more of her striking cyan color and her high-tech equipment. Cris controls a small nanite cloud that she can send into tight spaces to mess with electronics or just serve as sensors. In a nod to her ice-type model, she nicknames them her "diamond dust".
November 13, 2025 at 6:25 AM
Some time ago I drew a six-armed Glaceon girl; this is what she's become. Cris is the newest and youngest member of the Silver Lining crew, from a world of technology so advanced it's nearly dreamlike (it's where her custom body was made). Despite this, she prefers Elseways' chill vibe.

Spent some time revising the Elseways metro map. This isn't to scale, but you can still see a lot about the city here. I've filled in some more areas and rerouted the rail lines (because they were geographically impossible), and also given them names.

Farran d'Ouais (I spelled his name wrong in the picture, sorry Farran) is Capt. Bandersnatch's cartographer, navigator, part-time valet, and loyal Number One. He's also a person-sized living plush — a Clothling cuckoo — fleeing his species' parasitic reputation and trying to be helpful where he can.

Of course I lean into this pun. Part of my own brain was singing this to me. Life is a song, Nada Number.

Thought I'd try refining Solomon's design some as I get a better idea of who he is. Sol is extremely laid-back, which is weird for a test pilot, but it makes him take everything in stride; he's hard to surprise. Sol is cool, collected, and full of stories of times things went badly wrong.
