The kiosk demo of Mario Kart DS contained "Flesh Trucks" due to a spelling error. While the error was fixed in the final version, looking at the preview image for GCN Mushroom Bridge very closely shows that the truck still has an L. As such, the memory of the Flesh Truck remains.

Cheesy title screen, but it renders and that green "health check" square really is hitting the server to see if it's up. Next step: input fields for name and password, which is not as trivial as it sounds.

I felt like figuring out what Origin Park, Elseways' big urban green space, had inside it. I made the mistake in my first attempt of using the not-to-scale rail map and assuming it was a neat 2 by 2 mile square, but it's actually much larger. 17 square miles is a lot to fill.

Having a cozy day today. Got some stuff into the slow cooker for dinner later, made some oatmeal with peanut butter and banana slices for lunch, and now I'm drawing Ambersand mockups. It needs an actual login screen, because my first milestone is getting close: connect and chat over text.

The Telebunnie box art is also very cute.

The MSX has a vast library that I've only just started to delve into. There's bound to be more hidden gems like that; Telebunnie's "control a character who controls another character" thing is very creative and fun.

This game looks simple but is deceptively deep; you pilot the bunny around the maze Pac-Man style, revealing fruit, but holding the fire button lets you give the turtle commands, and letting the turtle get enough fruit is how you clear levels.

Officially, just one (English), but of course the people themselves speak hundreds more; this is a complicated question for a city to answer. Elseways needs sister cities in other locations around the globe just to provide other primary languages. Some are even bigger than Elseways itself.
How many languages does your OC speak?

Call me curmudgeonly, but I hate the term “vibe coding”. Building anything should be a thoughtful and careful process. If you want AI assistance with that, that’s your choice, but call it something else. “Vibes” are by definition thoughtless and careless. Dolphins have fish vibes.

Messing with pixel fonts again. I needed one that was small but legible and had a friendly bold-ish look, so here's Wheaton. A couple samples, and then the source sheet. No accents or anything yet, but they'll come in due time.

My art is based on two things: my insatiable curiosity for how things work and the tactile side of my imagination that wonders how it would feel to be different shapes. Elseways is somewhere these come together. It takes a lot of thinking about infrastructure to say “anything goes” and mean it.
Artists, I think we're all too comfortable sharing our imposter syndrome.

I would love to see you step out of your comfort zone and confidently state what you think you're actually really good at.

No self deprecation, just what you think you're the strongest at

Is anyone brave eniough? 👀

I have no clue what's going on here and I'm oddly curious. Is this dinosaur getting chocola-fied? This isn't my fetish but it feels like it could have been someone's, possibly the animator's.

Inspired by @danacorn.bsky.social , here's my own take on the self-portrait introduction thing. I have a number of characters I could've used to stand in for myself, so I just sort of combined a few of them.

Just had my 3-months-into-treatment-for-diabetes checkup and the doctor is very impressed with my results. In fact, I think I get to ease up a little (though not too much, of course). I’ve also lost about 10lb in the last 2 months, so this is all good news.
