Fandom great auntie. Cat lady. Too much ranting about the weather. She/Her.
The kids in the neighborhood who don't have sleds are going down our street in tote bins. They do so rarely get to see actual snow in this part of the state so as annoyed as I am by the weather, I am happy for the neighborhood kiddos.

Brad, my dear favorite weather person, using Metallica's 'Enter Sandman' as that background music for the current radar map is NOT helping my nerves re: this snowstorm.

Second best: my mom got me the Bruce Springsteen stories behind the songs book and that damn tome could definitely double as a weapon if need be. Did not realize the book was that huge.

Best birthday news so far is my IDR plan got approved and my payment decreased to a far more manageable amount.

They want everyone to know it came from the top, that it's corrupt and anti-1A, and they like that.

Because they don't have anywhere close to the capacity to silence everyone by force. So they use a show of intimidation to try to chill speech, and to try to raise their supporters' flagging spirits.
Bondi says she personally directed the arrest, WH smears and cheers.

You know I was born during a blizzard 42 years ago and now my city is about to get their version of that (aka more than an inch of snow) on my birthday weekend. Driveway is still a sheet of ice from last weekend's ice storm btw. This is more winter weather than we usually see in 4 years combined.

The opening shot and music for Edoras gets me EVERY time.

Oh just a normal night crying over Boromir's last stand and the unflinching braveness and loyalty of one Samwise Gamgee.

And as I go through this Tolkien EE marathon (I finished the Hobbit films this morning and we're now on FotR) I once again pine for a Gondolin adaptation.
January 26, 2026 at 10:36 PM
Well since our road is currently a mini ice rink, I don't think I'll be leaving the house for a couple days. Clearly time to do a Hobbit (oblig these movies could've been so much more comment) and LotR EE rewatch.

People get their news via social media these days. Newspapers always have a comics section, because if there's not something good to look forward to, people stop showing up to learn about the bad. So post your art &don't feel bad about it. We're the cheese wrapped around these hard to swallow pills.

You know you're an older North Carolina resident whenever an elevator incident happens in this state and you nod along in agreement with the first person who says, "This never would have happened if Cherie Berry was still in charge."

To all my fellow folks on this winter storm path: good luck and may your power not be out for too long. F

For all my fellow folks in the Piedmont: I know you heard Brad Panovich say to get your ass home by 6pm Saturday and to stay the fuck inside until basically midday on Monday.

The entire state is due for some sort of winter weather this weekend, which means they're putting in online grocery orders for our company across the state, and a customer called and wanted to know why the website was slow.

Disabled people don’t survive without community care. So for us to be considered worth surviving, that’s building a world where we all survive by supporting each other.
It should click for you how many who ask for mutual aid online are disabled. Disabled people are likely to be in poverty & isolation. Disability makes life under capitalism precarious. That’s why disability justice is intertwined with getting rid of capitalism & why mutual aid is disability justice.

Literally JUST paid off my root canal and another tooth just broke. I really hope I can get by with just an inlay and not a full crown but this is going to be expensive.

Every time I rewatch Psych, Supernatural, or various Stargates I chuckle when it's that same forest over and over again.

I do find it adorable my 70-year-old mother just asked me to bake her chocolate chip cookies the way I used to ask my grandmother when I was 4.
