Chase bank were behind a lot of prior payment processor porn bans. They hunted down payment processors who accept those transactions, then bought controlling shares and immediately used that power to ban "adult" transactions.

keep in mind the people behind this entire movement to ban nsfw video games are also protecting pedos. it really is a matter of moving away the accusations from themselves and pushing it onto innocent people

The reason it's important to get mad at Itch and Steam as well is quite literally, *someone* has to draw a line in the sand. Even if it's the sucky thing to do.
Itch made A SHITLOAD of money off of adult stuff. They made a name for themselves hosting outsider art. Our communities *made* them.

To connect the recent Steam and Itch situation to another ongoing bit of news: Visa and Mastercard (and other US companies like PayPal, Stripe, and Meta) clearly believe they are entitled to dictate how people spend money not just through their services, but anywhere at all

Fascinating video on Steam trends, especially these statistics- of all the games released in Steam in 2024, just 2.5% had the "LBGTQ+" tag and 7% had the "female protagonist" tag. This is supposedly the political trend that's overwhelming and destroying gaming.
