By this time tonight I was meant to have made my bread sauce, cranberry sauce and begun the gingerbread stuffing, and yet I find myself, tasks still undone, on my sofa, with drink and cake to hand, happily gazing at my Christmas-Grotto-garden. Rather thrilled with my new light-up deer, I must say.

Thoroughly enjoying people's photos of their Christmas puddings and cakes. Such deliciousness. 😀

Merry Christmas everyone! Enjoy your day, be it spent with family, friends or solo. I've had a very quiet morning, now we're off to descend into chaos of a large family gathering. Outdoors in the very mild weather. 🎄🪷🤗

TRILOBITE BEETLES!!! 😍🌿
Some of the coolest bugs in Asia’s rainforests are these female Lycid Beetles, that look like they’re from prehistoric ages!😱🦕

They retain their larval form as adults and feed on decaying matter in the leaf litter of the forest! 🍂
I get goosebumps every time I see them! 😁

Please remember, every time you see a newspaper or magazine article denigrating people - people like myself - who choose to avoid infection with SARS-CoV-2, there will always be a tiny, quiet voice in the mind of the author whispering, 'what if they're right'?

We are right.

Albo just got booed at the memorial for the victims of the Bondi Beach shooting.

I immediately felt sick.

I’m also angry that this tragedy has been so politicised.

Albo is not to blame. The Labor government is not to blame.

Hateful extremists ARE to blame.

We need unity. Not more hate.

The unprecedented second wave of influenza in SA continues to grow. Even if the peak is imminent (no sign of that), It looks set to continue well into January.

ED capacity smashed. No sign of any effective public health response.

You can try our call centre, but don't expect anyone to get back to you until after the Australia Day long weekend.

Dear Americans,

When you pronounce Bondi (the beach) as "Bondee" Australians of a certain age tend to think of this bloke. When referring to the beach every Australian pronounces it "Bond-eye".

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Two young Boobook Owlets seen while looking for Powerful Owls yesterday. They were low in a tree right next to a path next to a row of houses, a crazy location given there was a lovely creek with lots of secluded trees right behind them. Owlets often make poor roost choices.
