Dad, husband, IT guy, Star Wars enjoyer, occasional children's book author, app developer, and unrepentant Michigan man. Takes you agree with are my own, spooky ghost responsible for all others.
This is a lot easier to understand when you've given up looking for humanity where there is none. This is a person-shaped billboard running on a depleted battery, only capable of displaying what it's been fed by the worst people on the planet. If fed nothing, it defaults to whatever this is. Easy.
Q: A number of Republicans have denounced your statement on Rob Reiner. Do you stand by it?

TRUMP: Well, I wasn't a fan of his at all. He was a deranged person as far as Trump is concerned.

No statement has ever made me feel so seen in my entire life. Thank you, @techconnectify.bsky.social.

Truly hate online sports betting. It is to pro sports as AI is to personal computers. I don't give a shit about either offering, I don't want it IN the thing I'm trying to do, but everyone in control of that thing REALLY wants me to use it ALL OF THE TIME.

Kindly fuck off into the sun, forever.

I think we have run out of ideas when it comes to making money. All we have left are variations of "pay the peasantry to fight amongst themselves" on the short road to a future where all prosperity is lottery.

We peaked at Windows 98 SE.

Post your favorite “Lord of the Rings” character. Wrong answers only.

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles is a great movie. I watch it nearly every year about this time. Steve Martin was 42 when this movie came out. John Candy was 37. Kevin Bacon was 29.

BEN STEIN WAS 43.

Anyway, please scatter the dust I am becoming somewhere cool.

The most unrealistic thing about Home Alone is that Kevin, with no parental involvement whatsoever, cleans up his whole mess after it's all over.

What I said (verbatim): hey bud, can you grab the books you pulled off the shelf and help put them back?

What he heard (apparently):

I think making 38-year-old men choose between football and a new Ken Burns documentary is Violence, Actually.

I made a thing! It’s a journaling/habit-tracking app, specifically the app I wanted to exist but didn’t. No account required, no ads or third-party sniffing allowed, and no “we need access to everything you have ever done” permissions. Check it out! Or don’t! But it’d be a lot cooler if you did!

NYT and WaPo front pages are just... *incredibly* telling right now. You have to scroll down to find anything on Epstein and, in WaPo's case, the headline is a flat-out lie about the contents of the emails. What the fuck are we doing here?

Inside every dad, there are two wolves. The two wolves are not fighting because the first wolf spends its entire existence being hunted for sport by the children.

Ah, off-cycle election night. Time to start obsessively following the returns for a faraway candidate I just learned about an hour ago.

A $60B company just paid a small town in Michigan $9M to set itself on fire so a $300B company can continue its quest for 100% human unemployment. I love it here.

2025 feels like that late-stage game of monopoly where you just go round and round paying rent and utilities forever and nobody knows what the rules are anymore and everyone’s just waiting for it all to end except the one player who cheated and has all the money

I want to Fix The Damned Roads, just not my very specific roads at the very specific times I am using them. Thank you for your attention to this matter!!!

A distinctly American vibe that I really love: late-night-road-trip-pit-stop-core. Something about being in a public space, one open for your patronage but also empty or nearly empty of other humans, in the small hours of the morning while a little delirious from hours in your vehicle… (1/2)

Would love to see this kind of energy in the Big Ten.

In a potentially related follow-up question to my last one, why are there casters on the floor of the kids’ room? Two sets. From what? Nothing up here even uses casters. In fact, I can think of nothing in this whole house which would use them. What would even use only two of them??

And yet.

Serious question though, where are all my kids’ socks?

I love that my son enjoys gaming. Mario Wonder, LEGO Star Wars, Mario Maker, old SNES stuff... but also. Just sometimes.

Marriage is…

TIRED: yelling across the house at one another until one of you pretends to have heard the other and just says, “OKAY, GOT IT” to make the pain stop.

WIRED: taking turns hitting the snooze button on your respective phone alarms until one of you hurls the other into the sun.
