When sweeping economic decisions are made on such thin public support, nothing truly lasts.

Whatever is announced today, could be overturned tomorrow - by a completely different government, elected by an even smaller minority.

This keeps us stagnant, unable to plan and invest.

There is a better way.

Proportional Representation would give us governments that truly reflect the country, not just a fraction of it.

It would push parties to work together.

It would give Britain the foundations to grow, to innovate, and to invest in its future.

Almost every day, new 20mph schemes are announced around the UK. Sometimes whole counties and local authorities, sometimes towns or villages. It really is the decade where 20mph is becoming the urban/village norm.

Just look at the stats here. Why do so few voters look at the stats?

The Tories broke the UK safety net and then we couldn’t cope in an emergency. And we’ve still not fixed it and numerous fires are burning more fiercely.
The pandemic was a catastrophe but one that had been happening in the decade before 2020

Cuts in pandemic preparedness, lack of funding & resilience

The UK saw an additional 250,000 deaths, a fall in life expectancy

Lest we forget the pandemic merely exposed the failures of Government

That's the same as 3.2 million cashiers’ paychecks combined.

It’s more than 1.4 million elementary school teachers’ paychecks.

It’s more than 2 million janitors’ paychecks.

Not just academia. I think there’s too much ‘let’s create content’ going on generally.

You shouldn’t need to create ‘content’. If you’ve not already got a message you need to communicate, just keep quiet!
“It’s time for the ‘publish more’ mindset to perish.”

Mandy Hill, writing in the Financial Times, calls for reform in academic publishing:
