Dear Politicians, Please stop telling us that bad things are happening. We know. We did not elect you to alert us, we elected you to DO SOMETHING.

Do not mess with librarians. They let complete strangers borrow their books. For a living. Even the hardcovers. They are so much stronger than you know.

Geoffrey Chaucer basically invented Valentine's Day. & would absolutely love to receive all of the credit. (FYI, Chaucer was basically the medieval version of an influencer.) In fact, let's rename today Geoffrey Chaucer Day. Will you be my Geoffrey Chaucer? Perfection. #booksky #historysky

My favorite thing about this app is that I can get news on the downfall of America and then the very next post is someone's cat doing cat stuff. It's called balance.

#booksky: They're coming for our libraries. It's already happening. This is the second piece of down with libraries news I've seen today.
Okay, I’m hoping this will gain some traction on Bluesky *inhales* SALEM PUBLIC LIBRARY IN OREGON IS IN DANGER OF CLOSING. This sets a dangerous precedent for state capital libraries!!

This is a continuation of the saga from last year, when we were saved at the last second by the then-mayor. (1/2)

Perks of audiobook reading. I can read AND do the following:

✔️ Drive
✔️ Clean
✔️ Knit
✔️ Play mindless games on
my phone
✔️ Stare into the void...

Librarian tip of the day: if you were following the official POTUS etc.. accounts on other platforms, they automatically switched to the new administration. No one hacked you or forced you to follow them. #themoreyouknow #librariansky

All social media is a business, and we are its product. It's never been about our rights, our freedoms, it's all about who has our data because that's where the money is. Follow. The. Money.
What’s the difference between a gov controlling an algorithm, silently eliminating reach for things it doesn’t like, vs the same gov using its power, to demand that the platform remove the things it doesn’t like.?

In China they are overt. With TikTok in the US, they control silently

In a 1948 speech to the House of Commons Churchill said, "Those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it." This is the time for the learners to become the teachers.

Is there a follow up to “Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer” where he spirals into a deep depression after accidentally becoming indispensable at work and saddled with huge new responsibilities with no pay raise or promotion attached?

Not what I expected, but a beautifully written debut. Magical realism, historical fiction, women's fiction. TW for abuse & violence, but at its core, a compelling story of a matriarchal line overcoming adversities... Mostly caused by men. 🤷‍♀️ Book 28 of 2024. #booksky #books #readingsmyfavorite

An intricate, smart literary mystery. Moore flawlessly navigates multiple POV and timelines and weaves almost all of them together by the end. And the end! Wow. 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Book 27 of 2024. #booksky
