I made a map imagining a light rail system in Louisville utilizing existing rail lines in the style of Harry Beck who drafted the revolutionary transit map of the London Underground.

I don’t disagree! Living here let me tour in a band for ten years which I probably couldn’t have done elsewhere! I am certain that’s not the case for everyone who has left though but I’m sure most cities have folks who experience the same thing.

I’ve known a lot of people over the years who were desperate to get away, only to find other cities didn’t have what they needed socially or were too expensive so they grudgingly came back.

I guess I’d say I want Louisville to be a city people don’t want to leave 🤷‍♂️

That last sentence always seemed a little melancholy to me, but I’ve never moved away since I came in 1993 so maybe I’m reading too much into it.

Jim James (depressingly) nailed it.

This map unfortunately provides no clarity for Louisvillians arguing over whether we’re in the Midwest or South.

This is the most accurate depiction of the Midwest to date. Wichita has always felt like the last Midwest city while also being the first plains city.

My issue is that this map shows us on the boundary of Midwest and South, so basically the same argument we’ve had locally for ages.

This provides zero clarity for Louisvillians.

I wrote about why the regrettable conclusions of Ezra Klein pissed me off so badly in the last couple weeks.

On moral cowardice in an era that calls for clarity, and a popular political instinct to try to solve divisions of abuse by ignoring causes. www.the-reframe.com/eventually-y...

I got this as a wedding gift and use it all the time because I French press coffee too. The hold temp function is great if you’re doing multiple things while making tea.

Electric kettle is easier than a microwave and if you ever add in honey you can pour them at the same time and it mixes perfectly.

Now that Kirk's killer seems to be caught, maybe the news could spare a moment's attention for the right wing, from the commentariat up to the GOP and president, whose immediate reaction was not mourning, but to seize the opportunity to try to incite violence against groups they hate

The flag should stay at half staff and then be raised to full staff when something good happens. Way less to keep up with.
