I always think we've a problem in Ireland about planning for bad things. It's as if even having a plan acknowledges that bad things could happen and this goes against the idea that Ireland is the only place on earth where only good things happen.
The government are failing to take tangible climate action and adapt to the worsening effects of climate breakdown.

Worth remembering that in the UK & all high-income countries, far more cereals are fed to livestock than directly consumed by humans - adding much inefficiency to food systems. Shifts towards more plant-based diets are essential for food security - see bsky.app/profile/geof...

This level of tech is not affordable for a tiny farm. The most "sustainable" forms of animal farming, in terms of factors such as GHG emissions, are factory farms (they exist because they're efficient) but they're horrendous in other respects and plant foods are always far better for the planet.
