Section 5(1)(f) of the Child Trafficking and Pornography Act 1998 (as amended) makes it a criminal offence to knowingly facilitate the production or distribution of sexualised images of children. The problem here isn't the law - it's the political willingnesss to enforce it against X.
My word. (Again.)

Media Minister Patrick O'Donovan: "At the end of the day, it's the choice of a person to make these images... technology is moving so fast... even if the law is changed there's no doubt about... the advances are far faster than law is able to respond..."

As concerns rise over Grok, only one political party has stopped using Elon Musk's X
X has faced sustained criticism because some people are using Grok to remove clothing from real people with a new tool called 'edit image'

Somebody on here quipped earlier that we live in precedented times. It hit home with me.

In 2003 I watched US troops roll in to the oil rich Iraqi city of Kirkuk and roll straight out the other side to take up defensive positions around the oil refinery.

He must really hate rural Ireland & all it represents if he wants it to be full of empty homes
He's a harsh reminder of our colonial landlords

Of course smoking fewer cigarettes is big progress for a smoker. But if that smoker is looking for guidance, it will usually be about how to quit smoking, not just reduce.
I feel it’s time for more pioneers to be bolder about diet shifts, so that we can lead a positive social tipping point.

I often see a meme which bugs me. It says (as below) "Eat more plants!", followed by "No need to become vegetarian"... whilst citing solid evidence that shows the more plants in a diet, the better for both human and planetary health.

Here's to a bolder, more ambitious 2026!

I always think we've a problem in Ireland about planning for bad things. It's as if even having a plan acknowledges that bad things could happen and this goes against the idea that Ireland is the only place on earth where only good things happen.

Worth remembering that in the UK & all high-income countries, far more cereals are fed to livestock than directly consumed by humans - adding much inefficiency to food systems. Shifts towards more plant-based diets are essential for food security - see bsky.app/profile/geof...

The target, agreed by world leaders in 2015, to limit global warming to 1.5C above pre-industrial levels is now impossible, according to scientists. The consequences are global, and some of those con...

Bernie Sanders: "We need to be thinking seriously about a moratorium on data centers. You gotta slow this process down. It's not good enough for the oligarchs to tell us 'you adapt.' Are they gonna guarantee healthcare to all people? What are they gonna do when there are no jobs? Make housing free?"

Notice the number of simple zebra crossings. No lights, no fancy infrastructure, just clear priority for pedestrians.

The result? Slower cars, calmer streets, and a city that feels safer and less dominated by traffic.
