If humanity ever hopes to reach its full potential, we must set aside prejudice, hatred, and fear of the unfamiliar.

With an eye towards the stars, we’ll never stop learning and exploring for the sake of all humankind.
Quote graphic featuring Tuvok. The quote is “We often fear what we do not understand. Our best defense is knowledge.” Tuvok appears at the right side of the graphic.

When the government can silence one artist, it threatens freedom for all.

Glad to see it! The blue states are stepping up where the federal government has failed us.

The Star Trek franchise is actually sort of ambivalent about the extent to which Starfleet is a military organization but one thing it’s clear about is that while Starfleet has military elements, its primary job is curiosity, exploration, and to function as Federstion ambassadors to the galaxy

The tricorder is not simply a Star Trek prop we all wish we had, but a reality to come.

Over 15 years, we’ve provided millions of dollars in funding for extraordinary projects that are saving lives around the world, including these three ventures!

On this day in 1921, Eugene Wesley Roddenberry Sr. was born in El Paso, Texas.

At a time when it feels like scarcity and human suffering will never come to an end, Gene’s legacy dares us to dream bigger and create a better future.

Happy Birthday, Gene. 🖖

To our trans friends, we say: Never give up. Never surrender. 🏳️‍⚧️
Quote from @jessiegender: Transgender folks are like Galaxy Quest. Sure Galaxy Quest wasn’t assigned as a Star Trek film at birth, but only fools deny that it isn’t truly a Star Trek film. In fact, it’s one of the best Star Trek films of all time. The same with trans folks.

I've been wanting to rework my "Friend of Dax" design for a while, and I'm finally ready to share it. New enamel pins should be here in time for pride month. I'll also be ordering shirts; if you want to make sure you get one, preorders are 10% off and will ship in 4-5 weeks.

Bigfoot is real
thomasoc.bsky.social
What if in a Star Trek they just casually revealed that Bigfoot was real. Someone just mentions it to make a point or something, like "well people didn't think bigfoot existed until 2078". And then they never bring it up again, but canonically in the Star Trek universe, Bigfoot exists now.

We’ll be back next week with another edition of 60 Minutes.
