Walking to take a shit I just saw a veteran walking into the lobby of the VA. Prototypical Vietnam Era vet, white beard, pudgy, 5’8”, USMC tshirt. The kind of guy I’d normally assume was MAGA all the way.

The military couldn’t control any major US city except
maybe SF or some other easily blockaded city…unless they’re willing to kill Americans.

We couldn’t stop Haji and friends in a ‘88 Toyota Hileux from routinely getting some motors off from the truck bed and that was in full lethality mode.

So his actual birthday that he uses and gave to the Army, doesn’t match the birth certificate he got in Bumfuck Mississippi in the 1940s. Consequently, id.me and login.gov don’t work well for him.

Just saying, it’s worth noting that this isn’t as new to some Americans as it is to me.

This is 100% true and, to be fair, has been true for some time for Black Americans so when they come at you with “welcome to the party pal” it’s legit.

I met an old veteran at the VA last week who has trouble with his records because Blacks were only allowed to do paperwork on Tuesdays.

Not sure how many of you are familiar with Mr Wellman. He’s big in the veteran community. Former Army officer (which, as an NCO isn’t always a good thing lol) BUT the few times I’ve interacted with him, he’s been honorable and doing the lords work for veterans.

For those still tracking. Today is the final day of most government workers pay period. Some work tomorrow. On Monday a week from now, we are required by law to have our pay direct deposited into our account. As it stands right now, we will see 6 to 8 days of pay. That is it until the shutdown ends
