I do think it's a valid reason, I'm just saying that with the spotlight on them over the closure there is a lot of valuable media attention on them that they can use to really hammer in on other issues. It's a good time to try and shift public opinion which is in the gutter right now.

Jarrett Keohokalole is running against Ed Case. Ed Case has voted along with the GOP frequently under Trump, and his office does not return calls and any outreach to his staff is met with a boilerplate letter to check his public statements. He has not been a benefit in the position he's in.

I have been reaching out and am working with the campaigns locally to primary out our current representatives who have grown complacent and ineffective. I want to see things be better, it's all disheartening now.

The world after Trump should be better than the world before Trump, not just equilibrium. The messaging we're getting from Dem leadership is that they're fighting to a "return to normal", but the state of normal we were in is what got us Trump. Twice. We need leadership to be better, or be replaced.

They should have denied cloture in the last bill and stood their ground then, they should have been messaging strongly about the illegal reappropriations of funding and termination of jobs, they should have clear coherent and unified messaging to their constituents. Look at Pritzker he's doing great
