Tern HSD winter tire question

In a pinch, would 20x1.60 Marathon Winter Plus tires work on a Gen1 HSD S+?

- weight (bike, me, cargo) ~ 250-260 pounds
- conditions: light snow (1-2”), maybe black ice
- short rides (15 miles)
- season ~ 4-5 weeks

Tnx

Go figure: I saw a small bobcat on today's ride.

Needless to say, when I got home I put the can of pepper spray back on my bike.

Had a fun/interesting holiday evening talking with friends.

My favorite question was to list actors/singers which changed me in some way.

My list:

Tilda Swinton (essense)
Emma Thompson (words)
Annie Lennox (voice)
Viola Davis (foundation)
Siân Phillips (gut)
Shohreh Aghdashloo (spine)

One upside of long bike rides in cold weather is that once I get home...

my house (heated to 63°F, 17.2°C) feels like the tropics.

A *huge* vaccine victory. I've been writing on this for years; Australia has seen remarkable progress in cervical cancer prevention with the HPV vaccine. I love seeing science triumph like this.
Australia recorded ZERO cases of cervical cancer in women under 25 for the first time since they started tracking the cancer in the 80s.

This is the power of vaccines.

The HPV vaccine is extremely effective at preventing cancer.

Viruses can be oncogenic. Get your vaccines and protect yourself!
newsGP - Australia set for world-first cervical cancer elimination
Vaccination programs have played a key role, and GPs remain ‘instrumental’ in boosting screening rates to reach the 2035 target.

Fun late morning Saturday bike ride.

- Lots and lots of snow geese (honk!)
- Two very young girls stopped playing in their front yard to say "Hi! We like your bike!!" as I passed by.
- Local farmer was training his new sheepdog. I stopped for a few minutes to watch.

Now home. Warm and dry.

Where has Yuzu Kosho been all of my life? This "simple" fermented yuzu-green pepper concoction is crazy good.

I've been adding it to my lunchtime chicken soup and it's a game changer. A total flavor bomb of goodness.

Is now a kitchen staple.

Yuzu Kosho is a spicy fermented condiment made with yuzu citrus and chili peppers. It's the perfect way to add fiery, zesty flavor to hot pots, soups, sashimi, tempura and more!

The sentence is piercing: "The dueling missives from Nuzzi and Lizza show two showboats trying to out-detail each other, with maudlin prose dissecting a relationship that’s portrayed as tortured, but was really just between two careless narcissists." I lowkey might assign this piece in class.
I think @dinfontay.com summed up the moral fracture in journalism really well: “I feel cliché referencing George Carlin, but after a week like this what else can you say? There is a big club, and we aren't in it.”
Moral rot in elite journalism is killing the whole field
The Nuzzi/RFK Jr. mess and the revelation of Esptein's journo pals lay bare a profound moral absence at the heart of our free press.

I've made the point in the past that Trump's support is based on a coalition of disordered counterpublics which distrust institutions, such as anti-vaxxers, Pizzagate truthers, and the like. Their primary loyalty is to their individual causes, not Trump, and this is the coalition fracturing.
Marjorie Taylor Greene: "I do support him and his administration ... his remarks of course have been hurtful ... unfortunately it has all come down to the Epstein files ... I will continue to do my small part to get the files released."
