JUST IN: The Republican Mayor of Fairbanks, Alaska’s second biggest city, lost re-election last night to a Democrat.

Mayor David Pruhs is a conservative who fought protections for LGBTQ+ residents; he made comments this year drew condemnation this year from Alaska Natives. He lost to Mindy O'Neall.

I do find it hilarious how they immediately backtracked after this and deleted the comment

a member of bluesky saying "Yeh" in response to the above post, with a journalist responding asking to get their exact quote over the thread in which the bluesky member responds with "what" and the journalist then rephrasing the question only for the bluesky member to delete the entire thread

Let me get this straight: Link, a Black user, got banned for calling out the Bluesky CEO for following a racist. That’s not a good look, especially given Bluesky’s historical treatment of Black users here on bluesky.

And over the last couple of days, posts critical of the CEO have just magically deleted themselves, marginalized popular community users have been permabanned for the flimsiest of reasons, and the "decentralized" nature of bsky has been proven to be a sham.
