I referenced this yesterday, when the song came on in a store. @frankvaladez.bsky.social had no idea what I was talking about. Then this showed up today, and all became clear. Thank you, @theryangeorge.bsky.social
This was my biggest tweet over in the bad place. It will live here now. 🧙‍♀️🎄

He's also responsible for raising all the money that paid for bringing Hollingsworth v. Perry & even more importantly Bostic v. Schaefer, which created the circuit split that forced SCOTUS to take on Obergefell v. Hodges. The role he played in American marriage equality cannot be overstated.
The cultural impact of Rob Reiner cannot be understated. Legend isn't big enough a word. It goes to 11. You can't handle the truth. As you wish. I'll have what she's having. I'm your number one fan. You guys wanna see a dead body? The very idea of a bucket list. The West Wing.

All from his movies.

Someone who thinks being around a peacock decreases stress has not spent much time around peacocks.
At Kellenberg Memorial High School, dogs roam the hallways and the classrooms. Sometimes, students even hear parrots and peacocks during tests. It’s all part of the experience.

“We wouldn’t know what Kellenberg was like without them,” said former student Tara O’Donoghue. https://wapo.st/3Krlp5z

It was six years ago today that a man in Wuhan, China began feeling ill.

He would become the first known COVID case.

Covid is still with us. It’s still killing and disabling.

Clean the air. Wear a mask. Get your boosters.

Public health is a social justice issue.

Hosting Thanksgiving because my dad blew up my parents’ kitchen a few months ago. (They’re fine, it was as not catastrophic as a high rise kitchen fire could possibly be.) Best part of them coming here while they live in a hotel with no kitchen? I get ALL the leftovers. Including this beauty.

Everything came together perfectly for this episode. You might call it…a perfect storm.
One of the great folk songs of the modern era captures the spirit — and the historical record — of maritime tragedy, and the cover that knows it stuff as well as the original. The Wreck of The Edmund Fitzgerald, originally by Gordon Lightfoot, covered by Simon Barr Sinister.

All right, I’m going to make coffee, but I will leave you with this: one of the most radical acts of resistance both to fascism and to Covid right now is to wear a mask. Build communities around wearing masks, etc. Get vaccinated do what you can to protect yourselves and others in your life.
