This is the most astonishing graph of what the Trump regime has done to US science. They have destroyed the federal science workforce across the board. The negative impacts on Americans will be felt for generations, and the US might never be the same again.

ICE must be abolished. It has become a lawless, rogue agency. Federal law enforcement agencies must follow the law, if they're going to have any credibility enforcing it.
We are demanding justice for Renee Good and the prosecution of ICE agent Jonathan Ross for her murder.

It should be illegal for cowboys in town for the rodeo to play limit holdem. Sir, no-limit Texas Hold Em is the Cadillac of poker, please play that instead.

Acts of political violence aren’t acceptable. Non-political school shootings aren’t acceptable. Sacking the legislature isn’t acceptable. Military occupation of peaceful American cities isn’t acceptable. Abductions conducted in courthouse hallways by masked agents of the state aren’t acceptable.

Old Guy at the poker table was crabbing about not seeing a cocktail server, mentioning he was going to choose between water and champagne. Dealer asked about champagne, I chirped that it was an overrated beverage. Old Guy started to protest, waitress arrived, and he ordered champagne. Oops.

I don't want to brag, but I've been able to just let other people be wrong for a while now. I don't have to correct them if it's not important and they don't care to learn. I think it's a practiced habit, like patience.

Love it when actions confirm my priors. French guy shows up, take the seat on my left, has triple starting stack. My first thought "he's gonna be aggro". Within fifteen minutes, he's bluffed off a third of it, and called off a big 3b shove with 44.

"When should I leave a poker session?" is a legit question, but I love it when I'm thinking about calling it a night nine hours in, play another orbit, and mash the HEATER button to turn 1.2 buy-ins into 3 buy-ins.

The U.S. is 250 years old. We should not have to constantly relitigate incredibly basic shit like “everyone is entitled to due process” or “presidents must obey court orders” like these are new or unsettled questions.
