These molluscs create circular holes/homes in the peat from which they filter the sea water.

Harlequin Ladybirds have been abundant in the last few days, with many seeking hibernation sites in my home...
So, it was easy to find a specimen to photograph.

This Buzzard caught a large Common Toad in a hedgerow in late September and ate it all in 10 minutes - so much for them being distasteful!

This is another example of the green on the wing of a Teal appearing blue, because of the viewing angle.

The colour of the patch of green on the wing of a Teal is created by structure of the feathers and not a pigment.
The iridescence changes with the angle of the light and in this wing flap one wind shows green and the other blue.

These 2 Rooks seemed to enjoy annoying this Hobby (centre) that was hunting for dragonflies this morning over Pett Level.
This was at high speed and this sequence only took about half a second.
At least 3 Hobby were around.
