I made a game in a month for a game jam! It was my first project in Godot, it forced me to learn the engine very quickly, and I had a lot of fun. And @mellorinemusic.com provided an excellent original soundtrack recorded through an actual SNES! I'll link them below, let me know if you try it!

I think I'd just be consistent one way or the other, either all tiles or all Big Objects have some depth. I would lean toward the latter since you've got the sword and enemy shadows. Then again, it could be a fun surprise to be able to walk behind the palm trees lol

I'm currently in a very rough spot. Initially I was just a few hundred dollars short on rent and when trying to negotiate some leeway with my landlord, they were very not chill about the situation and escalated things to a point where I now have to find a whole new place to live.
