I think you just answered your own question—it might be time for topper to go.

I made the mistake of trying to watch the other Philly team
ryanlawler.bsky.social
Seriously why is every pass thrown into double coverage. I’m all for ‘our guys are better than their guys’ but you simply never see an eagle player open in space.

Society if the Eagles offensive coaching staff could scheme a single player open
The ‘society if’ meme
ryanlawler.bsky.social
So upset I can’t even be bothered to watch the other philly team lose.

He should not have been put in that position. Live or die with Luzardo, if Jesus makes it out bring Orion in for a clean inning, but if there’s one thing we’ve learned over the course of the season, it’s that Kerkering cannot be trusted with guys on base in a high leverage situation.
ryanlawler.bsky.social
He’s not a rookie! He was pulled in for the playoffs in ‘23 and has pitched two full seasons since then.

Can we fire Kevin Long during this offseason? Really tired of every hitter failing in exactly the same way during the playoffs.
ryanlawler.bsky.social
But I can’t blame Topper too much when Dombrowski let all bullpen depth walk in the offseason and the bats decided not to hit when it mattered most.
ryanlawler.bsky.social
Honestly you would have been better off leaving Luzardo in rather than bringing in the guy who has let over half of all his inherited runners score.
ryanlawler.bsky.social
Pitching Luzardo in a must-win situation was smart. Replacing him with Orion Kerkering was about the dumbest move you could have made in that situation.
ryanlawler.bsky.social
They also… didn’t score any runs?

If they lose, we are never going to shut up about this pitch. It was absolutely perfect

IBBing Ohtani was dumb, walking Betts was bone-headed pitching, but the inning should've been over.

No more umps eyeballing it. No challenges. We have the technology, let the robots call balls and strikes.

Potentially game changing missed call

Seeing like 1/3 of the fans in the 2/3 full stadium swinging rally towels with two strikes. What are they doing.
ryanlawler.bsky.social
…In an elimination game. Fake ass fans.

How is dodgers stadium 2/3 full

I know it's not the point of this post, but even beyond the screaming cowboy, it's entirely underrated how batshit crazy this song is all the way through

I have never doubted the 2025 Philadelphia Phillies.

Clayton Kershaw is now the second pitcher ever to give up 100 or more earned runs in the postseason. He's at 102. Andy Pettitte gave up 117, but Andy Pettitte also pitched 80 more innings than Kershaw has.

It’s not what I want, but I would not be surprised to see them rally when up against it in LA just to play a lifeless game at home with the series on the line
