Pathway analysis, originally developed for gene expression data, has been adapted for metabolomics. However, owing to the unique characteristics and constraints of metabolites compared with genes, pathway analysis in metabolomics often yields misleading or nonsensical results.

A paper in Nature Nanotechnology presents a method using arrays of silicon nanoneedles to generate molecular replicas of living tissue, enabling mapping for glioma characterization and classification. The method allows for the monitoring of the response of the tumours to chemotherapy. #medsky 🧪
