since the "google is now training gemini on your email contents" thing keeps bumping around here: it's _not happening_. I say this not to defend google but because I know a lot of people that have broken their filtering and made their lives much more annoying from sheer misinformation.
The malwarebytes Google opting-your-emails-into-ai-training thing is not true. The post is based on one bad tweet.
I know anti-tech lamenting is a Bluesky core principle, but please use the same judgement you would for any other clickbait.

since the "google is now training gemini on your email contents" thing keeps bumping around here: it's _not happening_. I say this not to defend google but because I know a lot of people that have broken their filtering and made their lives much more annoying from sheer misinformation.

If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."
There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.

Just finished Frankenstein by Guillermo Del Toro! I liked it a lot, although the book is obviously better, and the movie lacks a lot of nuance. Still a great movie though! Very long.

Sakara was lucky to have bonded so quickly with the other Lentavohi kids, as adoptees don't always find their place in such a tightly-woven community. Those years between his parents' death and the famine, are years he will always remember fondly.

I beat guardians of the galaxy for my ps5! I really enjoyed it. The gameplay was repetitive but the dialogue really shined. I loved listening to the guardians’ banter. I recommend it! I had a fun time collecting the outfits. It’s not connected to the MCU, it’s its own thing which I thought was cool.
