OP says that Trump’s approvals on immigration have nosedived. Nate says not really and then tweets a graph showing a -15 point swing… seems like a nosedive (especially when we are only 11 months in)

This should be the biggest story in the country right now. The sitting US President was extorting state lawmakers from his own party by threatening to withhold public money if they didn’t gerrymander for him.

I don’t know how else to say it…

I don't really think it's appropriate for Forbes to call Flock "a startup," implying that it's a smoll bean Andreessen Horowitz VC corp valued at $7.5B billion that is giving cops worldwide the ability to stalk and hunt and surveil us even more than they usually can, in this dick sucking PR piece
AI Startup Flock Thinks It Can Eliminate All Crime In America
With more than 80,000 AI-powered cameras across the U.S., Flock Safety has become one of cops’ go-to surveillance tools. Now CEO Garrett Langley has both police tech giant Axon and Chinese drone maker...

Congrats to Hall of Famer Jeff Kent, who was on Survivor in 2012 and said this after he was kicked off. It should be noted that the top marginal tax rate in 2012 was 35%, unchanged from the last 6 years of the Bush era. Which makes you wonder whether maybe the tax rate was not his beef with Obama.

I'd love for each member of that voting committee to stand in front of a camera and say, "why yes, I would've much rather had Jeff Kent's career than Dale Murphy or Don Mattingly's. Kent is who, if I were putting a team together, I'd rather have than Murphy or Mattingly."

They could've voted in a seven-time MVP, a seven-time Cy Young/one-time MVP winner. They could've voted in guys like Murphy (2 MVPs) or Mattingly (1) who, for at least a brief time, were plausibly the best players in the game. But we get Jeff Kent who was never even once the best player on his team.

pretty much all the problems of humanity are caused by people stubbornly pretending that their particular cultural features are unique to them rather than being but one variation on a universal theme. we're at our best when we recognize that we're all the same in the ways that actually matter.

cool that the official position of the administration appears to be that black people don’t really count as americans
"The Donald Trump administration has changed which holidays qualify for free entrance to national parks, removing two holidays celebrating Black people and adding the president’s birthday."
National parks change prioritizes Trump birthday over days honoring Black people
Free entrance days at national parks no longer include MLK Day and Juneteenth.

I think Sean Duffy should promote a dress code for Trump rally attendees. Perhaps they would behave better.
Sean Duffy: "Dressing with respect -- whether it's a pair of jeans and a decent shirt, I would encourage people to maybe dress a little better which encourages us to maybe behave a little better. Let's try not to wear slippers and pajamas as we come to the airport."

“We can’t afford players because we’re in debt because we took all the money fans gave us and bought property to enrich ourselves.”

But don’t blame us! Blame the teams that re-invests money the team earns back into the organization via free agency and player development. They are the real villains!
Did you know that some MLB owners take out loans against future season ticket sales and then use that money to buy themselves mansions/yachts etc? With the added bonus of being able to whine to fans that the team is actually carrying a lot of debt?

Last dodger owners did this!
