Here for the present, stayed to watch real life unfold
Holy, the tech right vs right right infighting was definitely not on my 2024 bingo card at all, this year has been nonstop once in a lifetime history back to back. #freeluigi hopefully for new years and 2024 will end perfectly

it's insane how peer pressure/group mentality/normalization works, one CEO down and normies were activated in a way I've never seen before. Ppl shouldn't have to die for excellent points to come across, but violence speaks and that's why it's mainly state sanctioned.

all the toxic politics almost made me forget how much people actually do know who the real enemy is

Anti intellectualism is practiced a little too often nowadays....

"It's bad to leave Twitter because-" We live in a society run by weird little billionaires who would prefer we are all unhappy so we keep spending to get occasional hits of dopamine. It is okay to leave the website that makes you feel horrible. Go & be free.

the easiest way to filter out job applicants would most likely just be a literacy/comprehension test. All the credentials in the world mean nothing if you can't communicate or understand concepts effectively

would be nice if social media could replace the vibes of third spaces older generations used to have like Malls, without any of the consumerism

I didn’t leave X because people there had different opinions and ideologies, I left because it stopped being fun. I get on social media to chat with people who think thinking is fun. X stopped being a place where that was true.

going from obsessing over hunter biden's extracurriculars to elation over a HHS chief with a 15 year of heroine usage was not on my bingo card for 2024

can't imagine the ridiculous OF earnings has any correlation with the fact that almost all tweets have some sort of, very safe for work, advertisement(s) linking to countless OF creators/accounts

I am thankful for a social media site that’s not run by disinformation-pushing maniacal billionaire, not controlled by an algorithm design to censor news and much-needed debate, and not overrun by mean-spirited people who encourage and celebrate ignorance. Thankful, indeed.

mfw the USA keeps gutting education and everyone is so proudly embracing being "anti-woke" and openly worshipping the epitome and amazing historical example of fascism/authoritarianism. If the target audience could only read.....we are failing multiple open book tests
Libraries are an investment. Not an expense

Shocking as it sounds, it’s quite possible people prefer the civility and community of Bluesky over being force fed some cooked up algorithm concocted by a bombastic billionaire to amplify trolls, bots, and miscreants. Imagine that!

it's legit the hypocrisy for me, Americans complaining left and right about the economy yet filling out parking lots for black Friday "deals" can't wait to see y'all keep that energy when everything is more expensive from tariffs

by far the worst part of twitter is having to convince people how to be human beings

Blue Sky team, you're building something special and great here. Keep at it. Stick with it. And please don't sell it to an evil billionaire who's going to come around waving a lot of money to gobble it up.

Sincerely, a Happy Blue Sky user.

Until abortion is legal in every state, lets require men to get a mandatory vasectomy until they are proven emotionally mature, financially responsible and ready to be a father.
Wait, what do you mean regulations on men's bodies make you uncomfortable?

once Bluesky regains all the business lost on twitter, it's just gonna be truthsocial v0.5; Elon is so cooked: money he could've used to help people, instead of influencing politics

Have I had my mind changed on social media? Yes - NOT by arguing with randoms, but by following experts and first hand folks who share what they do, what they think and what's going on. The change isn't binary - I used to think one thing, and suddenly now another - it's slow and additive: Learning.

new to Bluesky but would love to hear people's opinions on which platform is better and why is it blue sky
