Hoops -> medicine -> parenthood.
Herb Jones might be the most depressing player in the league rn. Just a human triple single who can’t stay healthy. No idea what happened to drop his trajectory so much.

Idk if McCain can stay healthy but if Presti calls you, hang up the minute you see the caller ID.

Sometimes it’s hard to tell if Oz is stupid or malicious. Either way, he’s being kind of horrible. So let me explain.
Dr Oz: "Yet many of the people in these hospice centers, they have 100% survival rates. No one dies. They're not dying. They're fakely put on these lists."

After supertanking for 3 seasons that felt like 10, seems like maybe Utah no longer trusts the process. With AJ in the draft I’d still bet they try and bottom out this year. Can’t imagine JJJ sees the floor much post ASB.

Butler, Kuminga, picks for Giannis, Kuzma. Win-win.

I think @mcuban.bsky.social heart is in the right place w/r/t healthcare. But it’s really hard to work through when you haven’t been working inside the system. His critique of the M4A act is fair, but a lot of what I’ve seen from him makes similar mistakes. Because this stuff is really hard. 1/

Well, if we are talking national debt now, absorbing the roughly $25B in profit made by the insurance companies seems like a good place to start. That money is coming from citizens. It’s not created out of thin air.
If you take every penny every billionaire has, it wouldn’t pay for 1 yr of expenses

The annual interest on the national debt is about 1 trillion dollars.

The annual cost of healthcare is 4T after admin. Then get rid of the military budget.

4T a year in expenses.

Then what ?
I can never understand how heartless billionaires are. All we are asking is you all pay your share to help your fellow man have a better quality of life. "Greed is a bottomless pit which exhausts the person in an endless effort to satisfy the need without ever reaching satisfaction." Erich Fromm

Why are they eye level with light switches? Are these people hobbits?
Oh my god y'all I had not seen the rest of the Vanity Fair photos holy shit. Christopher Anderson deserves a medal.

Look at this. He left the LIGHT SWITCHES in the edited photos! These assholes look like their well-meaning mom took a picture of them on their first day in a grown-up job.

Any serious M4A discussion should be talking about a simple fact. Private pts make up about 20% of the population and cover ~30% of revenue. How are you going to migrate that $ away from insurance companies and into the public funding as well as increase that revenue stream? That’s step 1.
December 11, 2025 at 12:32 AM
Which hospital is going to opt out of M4a/etc? Which hospital will lose 90% of their patients, all federal $ support, and survive? That’s theoretic anyway. Because hospitals can’t turn away ER patients. They have to use the system. They can’t just take their ball and go home.

Give Md/RN all the $
Are you ok with rich people having access to the most expensive doctors and hospitals and you don't because the gov won't pay for it or they opted out of the Universal care program ?

Do you think it's right for doctors and nurses to only work for what they think is a living wage ?
December 10, 2025 at 11:59 PM
Here’s where he really proves he’s not being serious. He’s creating hypothetical models out of thin air to scare people.
Which curative medication are we talking about? Be specific or gtfo with this. Most medications are paid for by the state (research $), and the cost shouldn’t be what it is.
R U ok with paying 8 to 12 pct more in taxes and possibly losing your standard deduction ?

R U ok with losing access to different curative medications and care because the government can't afford to pay for them, even after taxing all the billionaires 90 pct?
December 10, 2025 at 11:53 PM
Sigh. He’s clearly not a serious person or asking in good faith. But it’s worth pointing out that the biggest hospitals wouldn’t exist without a heavy reliance on state support, and cannot refuse ER visits even if they wanted to (one of the main sources of poor patients) so A isn’t a real question.
For all Universal HC/Single Payer/M4A advocates.

What do the biggest, expensive hospital chains do. Do they opt out and only serve the rich ?

Who in the USA gov runs the program?

R U ok with having to see a primary care doc before you can see a specialist ?

Shai decided he’s going to go full foul merchant tonight. He’s too good for this, it’s gross to watch.

Naji Marshall reminds me of Norm Powell. He seems too good for his role and often seems like the best guy on the court for his team.

Nobody should get too far over their skis on this one. Executive physicals are actually really common. Mostly used by the rich and/or hypochondriacs, they generally consist of minimally invasive series of tests designed to catch something in the early stages. Advanced screening, essentially. 1/

Yea close to zero% chance. At a minimum the radiology jargon used would embarrass the hell out of him. Atrophy, diffuse white matter dz, cannot exclude NPH 🤣, etc etc.
(There's no chance he actually releases the results of his MRI, obviously.)

Knueppel getting to 50/40/90 as a rookie would be insane. He likely won’t hit any of the three but is on track to be close in all. Great start for him.
November 30, 2025 at 2:15 AM
Good game. Great shot making by Suns roll players but suffocating defense from OKC. So hard to get good shots against them. ISO brooks and iso Booker just don’t work. And Shai? Even w/on the foul stuff he’s just a killer.
November 29, 2025 at 4:52 AM
lol Goodwin just celebrated his 3 so hard he rolled an ankle and couldn’t close to Wallace who hits a 3 in return. He pulled a Gramatica.
November 29, 2025 at 4:40 AM
As soon as I compliment him Gillespie shows his handle is weak and gets picked. Also very impressed with the mobility of the Suns bigs. Igodaro and Williams show well on screens.
November 29, 2025 at 4:35 AM
Gillespie, Goodwin, and *cringe* Brooks have all impressed me tonight.
November 29, 2025 at 4:28 AM
Detroit defense looked like hell to play against in the firstqtr, but not nearly so much by the 4th. Okc looks even tougher early, I suspect they can sustain it though. Phx playing tough though.
