Amused at some Canadian media headlines this morning, how PM Carney came home "empty-handed" for example. No deal.
As if a trade deal this complex can be packaged and tied up with a bow all in one meeting? Seriously? This kind of reporting doesn't add to the public's understanding.

It's easy to write flippant fluff like this from the other side of the Atlantic. You're not living on the NA continent and sharing one of the longest international borders in the world with an increasingly fascist regime led by a man so erratic the surprises come daily. An unfortunate headline.

This isn't a case of "bended knee" - this is a wise man knowing when to use flattery to his own advantage. Trump's an egomaniac and all egomaniacs need praise and adulation. The real joke is that "transformative" is an adjective that is open to interpretation. 🤣

Watching the inevitable critics of Carney's performance with Trump today, I am reminded of the two bits of advice I used to give clients: Don't antagonize people who can inflict serious harm on you. Don't start fights with crazy people. There are other routes to success than confrontation. #cdnpoli
