A tip if you're struggling with the doomscroll: take social media and news apps of your phone, and only read them on the computer. You will not make the world a better place by checking/engaging with the news 20x a day rather than 2.

Microsoft's own research confirms something that was already pretty obvious: relying on a text generating machine to come up with answers erodes critical thinking, and is a method favoured by those who never liked doing critical thinking in the first place

In 1959, 9 year old Ronald McNair was denied books at a segregated library, prompting police involvement when he defiantly refused to leave. He later earned a PhD in Physics from MIT, became an astronaut, and tragically died in the Challenger disaster. That same library is now named after him.

I’ve been thinking a lot recently about how much of US politics is about finding the exact way to tell people that there are no trade offs and we can keep running society like this forever because voters don’t want to hear about sacrifice.

I have come to the conclusion, and many have already (given the think pieces written about it), that we have reached peak graphics in terms of profitability and trying to do more is an expensive waste of time. Oh wow Messi's hairs raise when they get cold, like...I'm never seeing that in game.
