Dan Campbell going for the win last year in the playoffs even after the penalty seemed kind of silly at the time and may not have been the right move by the numbers but I think it was a decision made by a guy who knew his star coordinator was leaving and how small their window really was

The specter of Dan Enos looms

Yeah like I get why people love RBs like Marshawn who won't go down or whatever but at the same time there's basically never a situation where a guy Tyler Lockett's size fighting for an extra 3 yards at the risk of getting hurt is preferable to having him available for 16/17 games a year

Maybe it's just based on the fact that the couple friends I had whose parents had separate beds were pretty weird but as an adult now I'd rather live separately than live together but sleep in different rooms

Same, because it was always in regular rotation as a kid I thought The Wreck was nearly as well known as American Pie to most people but apparently not

It is crazy to think but it's absolutely true that there's a large chunk of the fanbase who would like Tyler more if he had played with reckless abandon and only survived 6 or 7 seasons of injury-interrupted football rather than slide and play the 10 years of nearly healthy football that he did

What if all along Lane has been Bain and Pete Golding is Talia al Ghul

My uncle (played at MSU in the 70s, still lives in Bozeman) is so drunk that he responded to a text I sent him after that fumble recovery TD in a language that is closer to what they wrote Beowulf in than modern American English, it's going to be an all-timer over there tonight

Unrelated to this dumptrucking it's pretty funny from a branding perspective that their entire reputation is built on the success of UCF/Cincy/Houston and then they decided to change the name of the conference after they left for some reason

Now Cod I'm not accusing you of putting me on,,, but if that majestic white beard actually belonged to someone the same age as me I would feel very inadequate

Fingers crossed one of the evening games is salvia
December 20, 2025 at 9:03 PM
That's true, and imo Gene provides a lot more value than the other guys, but I like the idea of having the decision making process explained by the people who actually made the decision, if there's a way to do it without bringing the observer effect into play
December 20, 2025 at 8:19 PM
I think a happy medium would be replacing the Dean Blandino/Gene Steratore/etc rules official speculating on their thought process with someone who is actually in the replay booth giving a quick rundown of their rationale after the decision has been made. Informs while allowing them to debate freely

I need to know if it's a Rebel Rags shirt, that would really square the Ole Miss circle

I'm turning 40 in a couple months and even still nothing has made me feel more like the aging Matt Damon meme than seeing that that video was uploaded 17 years ago, I'm pretty sure I saw it for the first time only a couple of months after it was posted

This awful sludgefest followed up an upset in either of the two evening games would be the perfect rejoinder to all the morons weeping and moaning about two G5 teams making the tourney
December 20, 2025 at 7:46 PM
huh, did not expect Patty Murray to be the only senator to take a stand on that one, but then again even if she pisses Boeing off there's no Republican that could beat her in Washington

And the opposite is true, too - that lady has 8000+ 11th great grandparents, if only one of them came on the Mayflower that doesn't give her all that much American Heritage™️

When I was in middle school my great-aunt put together a big genealogy book for our family, and of course being 12 I started bragging I had royal/noble ancestry until a teacher did me the great kindness of showing me how many tens of thousands of other descendents they had
December 20, 2025 at 4:21 PM
If one of my family members was a Washington Post columnist I’d be asking them for expensive shit, too, pulling in a six figure paycheck from a legacy media company for writing irrelevant dreck like this is practically stealing to begin with
December 20, 2025 at 12:07 PM
Yeah, internet 1.0 you were arguing with another person in a (usually futile) attempt to convince them of something, internet 2.0 you're making an argument for the consumption and approval of an audience. Superficially similar but fundamentally different

There's nobody I want to strangle more than an 18 year old atheist in a comment section who is making the exact same arguments I was making as an 18 year old atheist in comment sections
